THE SHORT STORY IS I LOVE ART AND I LOVE TO WRITE. I HAVE EXPERIENCE AND A KNACK FOR BOTH. I WOULD LOVE TO WORK WITH YOU DOING EITHER, BUT YOU CAN KEEP READING THE LONGER STORY TO LEARN A BIT MORE ABOUT ME.

I got my bachelor's degree in graphic design back in 2005. During my final year I interned at a couple ad agencies, one of which was in the top three in the state at the time. After graduating I began working as a Graphic Artist in the prepress dpt. at a large ticket design & printing company (what the heck is ticket printing?). It was a fantastic company to work at, where I learned many skills, and acquired a required meticulous attention to detail. Later on I was very involved in the marketing and web development campaigns for the company, creating trade show graphics & ads, designing the new website, working on SEO, and writing the blog. It was good work, but in 2009 I was feeling like I needed a big change. I had been living in South Florida for 26 humid years at that point.

So, in 2010 I took a chance and moved away to New York City. I lived in Astoria and later in Sunnyside, Queens. After a brief time working as an SEO & Web Content Specialist for a company in Manhattan, I began working as Lead Copywriter & Product Specialist at Brooklyn-based CTA, a manufacturer of unique and often quirky video game accessories and consumer electronics products. I had my hands full with hundreds of products ranging from inflatable Mario karts to an iPotty for kids, and kitchen stands for iPad. I was responsible for writing product descriptions, testing & product development, content distribution & merchandising, brand licensing, and oversaw package design, marketing projects, and trade show coordination at CES in Las Vegas, Home & Housewares Show in Chicago, NY Toy Fair, and E3 in LA. It was a very interesting experience that kept me multi-tasking and involved in multiple facets of business.

I can honestly say that I loved living and working in New York, and it will forever be one of the lasting experiences in my life. I'd still be there if I could, but the city has many challenges and restraints. In 2013 I got happily married to my longtime best friend (and inspirational artist) Jenipher Lyn, and in 2015 we made the decision together to move out of our tiny Queens apartment and back to Florida, so that we could be closer to our families, and start planning for our own.

We currently enjoy living in Dunedin, FL and have fun exploring the greater Tampa Bay & St Pete area. I am currently working as a freelance designer, writer, and consultant for hire. And as I said at the end of the short story, I'd love to see how we can work together!
Let's get started.

About

I'll be honest, I'm not great at talking about myself. I could maybe take a step back and go into third person to elegantly tell you about Camiilo Gallardo, but I'd like to keep this personal, real, and maybe a little funny. I think that sounds more like me.

The short story is I love art and I love to write. I have experience and a knack for both. I would love to work with you doing either, but you can keep reading the longer story to learn a bit more about me.

I love to travel, and also explore & support local spots. Parks, bakeries, and coffee shops are a few of my favorites, but I also admire good architecture and a nice slice of pizza.

I also love murals and public art, even in the rain.
